We now analyze up to 4 free samples per person daily, with additional at $10 per sample.

OUR FUNDING:

Get Your Drugs Tested operates entirely through funding from The Medicinal Cannabis Dispensary and The Medicinal Mushroom Dispensary, and your donations, with no government support.

It costs us about $25 to cover all the costs of analyzing a sample, including equipment, labour and rent. This minimum $10 donation requirement helps us to offer our service to as many people as possible. Larger donations are gratefully accepted.

We appreciate your understanding as we work to maintain this vital service despite our resource limitations. By managing our testing capacity carefully, we can continue to provide accurate results for everyone who relies on our service.

We only need a tiny 10mg (0.01g) sample to run a test. See our How It Works page for minimum quantities for different substances.

At drop-off, we’ll take only what we need—you can keep the rest.
Please note: once a sample is tested, it cannot be returned due to safety protocols.

GETTING YOUR RESULTS

  • The test typically takes 10–15 minutes, but wait times can be longer during busy periods.
  • If there’s a line-up, results may take 1–2 hours.
  • We operate on a first-come, first-served basis.

Pro Tips

  • Arrive Early: Please come at least 1.5 hours before closing to ensure we can complete your test. If you arrive right before we close, we may not be able to process your sample.

  • Plan Ahead for Busy Periods: Days leading up to major city events, as well as summer months and the holiday season, tend to be especially busy. Consider dropping off your samples with ample notice (ie. a few days or a week in advance) to avoid long wait times.

Result Delivery Options:

We’ll provide an estimated time for pick-up if you choose to wait for a result card.

In-person testing is also available at some overdose prevention sites through Vancouver Coastal Health.
