Once confirmed, the fee is $10 per sample. Organizations involved in health or harm-reduction work may qualify for reduced fees – please mention this in your initial email.
OUR FUNDING:
Get Your Drugs Tested operates entirely through funding from Dana’s Medicinal Cannabis Dispensary and Dana’s Medicinal Mushroom Dispensary, and your donations, with no government funding.
It costs us about $25 to cover all the costs of analyzing a sample, including equipment, labour and rent. This minimum $10 donation requirement helps us to offer our service to as many people as possible. Larger donations are also gratefully accepted.
PAYMENT METHODS:
Once approved, we accept two forms of payment:
EMAIL MONEY TRANSFER
- You can send an email transfer before mailing your order.
- Send to donate@getyourdrugstested.com. Make the question “what is first” and the answer “safety”.
- To help us track payments, please include the provided submission sample number in the memo section of your payment.
CASH DONATIONS
- The easiest way to pay the fee is to enclose cash with the samples.
- Enclose cash discreetly (Please do not use coins!)
- Use larger denominations when possible
- For international mail, this option is preferred.

HOW TO SEND A SAMPLE
* Note that we cannot analyze used supplies, food products, plant matter or other organic samples (including cannabis and mushrooms).
* Also note that this service is intended for people residing in Canada. However, if a sample arrives at our PO box, we will analyze it and share results with the provided contact.

1. SAMPLE SUBMISSION NUMBER
When you email us, you will receive a sample submission number. Please include this number with your sample, along with the other required information.
2. HOW TO MAKE PAYMENT
We now require a minimum $10 donation per sample sent in by mail.
a) CASH: The easiest way to pay the fee is to enclose cash with the samples. Please do not use coins! For international mail, this option is preferred.
b) EMAIL: You can send an email transfer before mailing your order. Send to donate@getyourdrugstested.com. To help us track payments, please include the the sample number we give you in the memo section of your email transfer.
The $10 minimum donation is required to help us cover costs and keep this service accessible. If you are able to make a larger donation, that is appreciated.
* If you represent a public harm-reduction organization, or you are an individual who is not financially able to contribute, please let us know and we can possibly waive the minimum donation requirement.
3. REQUIRED INFORMATION
Include a separate paper slip with each sample that has this information:
1. Submission Sample Number
2. Substance type (or “unknown” if unsure)
3. Purchase City (City name, or put “anonymous”)
4. Whether it has been tried (yes/no/unsure)
5. Notes like unexpected effects or specific concerns
6. Contact information (email, phone, or code word)
7. Donation amount.
You can use our Sample Submission Forms (Full page and quarter page formats), or write the same information down clearly on your own paper.
This anonymous information is required by our technicians to ensure your sample is processed correctly.
4. HOW TO PREPARE THE SAMPLES
Please follow these steps carefully.
a) MINIMUM AMOUNT OF SAMPLE TO SEND
– Solid substances: 10 mg (approximately match-head size).
– Liquids: 1-2 mL (well-mixed) in a sealed locking waterproof container
– Pills: Ideally a whole pill, or at minimum a half pill
– Blotter: Quarter of a tab
b) TRIPLE-BAGGING PROCESS
i) Place sample in a ziplock bag – seal completely
ii) Place first bag inside second ziplock bag – seal completely
iii) Place second bag inside third ziplock bag – seal completely
c) SENDING MULTIPLE SAMPLES
If sending more than one sample, please follow these instructions.
i) Place all samples in separate ziplock bags to prevent cross-contamination
ii) Place all sealed bags in second ziplock bag – seal completely
iii) Place second bag in third ziplock bag – seal completely
iv) We recommend writing A, B, C, D, etc on each sample bag for easy identification when receiving results. Make sure to keep a note of this information for yourself.
5. HOW TO SEND THE PACKAGE
– Use regular Canada Post or Xpresspost shipping only.
– Do not send by Fedex or other couriers.
– Use a regular padded envelope or a padded Xpresspost envelope.
– Do not require a signature.
– Make sure you put on enough postage.
Failure to follow these instruction can result in your sample not being received.
We will provide you with a mailing address when you contact us by email.
If you have provide an email address with your sample, we will contact you once we have received your parcel.
6. HOW TO RECEIVE RESULTS
Packages are picked up on weekdays only. Please be patient and trust that we will contact you when your samples have been received.
EMAIL: It is best if you include your email address with your sample. In that case we will contact you as soon as your package arrives.
CODE WORD: If you don’t wish to be contacted by email, you may include a code word with your sample. You can then use this to find your sample results in our online database when the result is posted there, which will usually be within 1-2 days of receiving your sample.
If you’d like to use a unique code word, you may choose any word as long as it does not include a person’s name, a place name, or inappropriate language. If you provide us a word that cannot be used, we will default to your sample submission number.
Please be aware that we do not have the capacity to confirm that your package has been received if you only provide us with a code word. You will have to wait until results are posted online. This is why we recommend providing an email address if you’d like an update once your package is received.
Our current turnaround time is approximately 1-2 days once the sample has been received.

Data Privacy
We publish all test data publicly in an anonymous format. By sending in samples, participants agree to allow us to share the resulting data on our website and with our partners for transparency and public benefit.
All personal information is anonymous and confidential. We shred all documents and keep no personal records.
