Big update! Police raids, new challenges!

The last four months have been a wild ride!

Get Your Drugs Tested has been busier than ever. We have surpassed 80,000 samples analyzed, and are struggling to keep up with soaring demand for our services.

Sadly, Vancouver Police and other authorities have been attacking the dispensaries which provide the funding for this service.

The Medicinal Mushroom Dispensary was raided for the second time in November 2024, with police emptying all storefronts of product and cash but no charges being laid.

The Medicinal Cannabis Dispensary was also raided at both locations in January of this year. It’s the same thing – all product is seized but no charges are laid.

These raids are very expensive! We have already been challenged trying to expand Get Your Drugs Tested to keep up with demand, but with these raids we are now struggling to keep this service going at all.

I was forced to order the Get Your Drugs Tested doors to be closed for a week, and now we are re-opening with reduced hours and a limit on how many samples we can analyze for free.

We can really use your help to stay open. Donations are appreciated and important, but also just making a few phone calls and sending some emails in support can make a really key difference.

I have devoted most of my life to the cause of ending prohibition and helping drug users have legal access to most currently banned substances. I believe that what we call ‘the war on drugs’ actually causes and worsens all the problems it claims to prevent. Through my dispensaries and our Get Your Drugs Tested program, I am working to dismantle some of the harms caused by prohibition the best that I can.

This is a challenging time right now, not only for these projects but for many other people in the world. Our team here will continue to do the best we can to improve and protect our community, both here in Vancouver and all across Canada.
